If you love traditional choral music, the Chancel Choir is for you! Through hymns, anthems, service music, and larger works, the Chancel Choir provides music for the 11:00 a.m. worship service each Sunday and at special services throughout the program year. In a variety of traditional and classical anthem literature, members explore and enjoy music for each liturgical season. The choir is open to any adult who has the ability to match pitch (rough translation: carry a tune in a basket). Music reading skills, while helpful, are not required. The Chancel Choir rehearses on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. Join us!
St. Cecilia Handbell Choir
For over forty years, the sounds of the St. Cecilia Handbell Choir have rung through the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church. The choir plays several times per year for Sunday and special services and participates periodically in handbell festivals throughout the region. The St. Cecilia Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 5:30. Join us in ringing God’s praises!
The DayOne Band leads the music in our 9:00 am worship service. Featuring an eclectic variety of music performed in an acoustic style, the DayOne Band is open to all who wish to sing God’s praises with integrity and passion. Rehearsals are on Sunday mornings at 8:15, prior to the start of the service.
wamm! (Worship Arts Music Ministry)
Worship Arts Music Ministry (wamm!) gives junior high and high school youth the opportunity to experience the worship arts in community. Through contemporary and traditional music, high-energy liturgical dance, poetry, visual arts, handbells, drama, and more, discerning youth explore the beauty and history of our liturgy, find ways to incorporate their gifts into new and dynamic worship experiences, and contemplate their faith in an intellectually stimulating environment. And we have pizza! Join us on Sunday afternoons from 4:30 to 6:30.
From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise. ~Psalm 8:2
The Happy Notes early childhood music and movement program offers children ages birth through four, together with a parent or caregiver, the opportunity to celebrate God’s wonderful world through music. Developmentally appropriate songs, dances, instrumental music, and listening exercises address the particular needs of little ones as we explore the ways in which music helps us grow in body, mind, and spirit. Happy Notes meets on Monday afternoons at 3:15. Class size is limited, so please contact Krista Mays, Director of Music Ministries, for more information.
