Thank you for your interest in First Presbyterian Church. Even before you step foot on our campus, we want you to know that we welcome you and hope you will experience the love and care of Jesus Christ through our members and ministries. Hopefully the information found here will help answer some of the questions you may have.
Where to Park
Our church has parking lots located off “B” street on the north side of the sanctuary.
Sunday Worship Times
9:00 a.m. DayOne Casual Worship Service 11:00 a.m. Traditional Worship Service
Child care is provided in the Nursery for all worship services as well as Sunday school. The Nursery has trained staff members, and church volunteers assist when needed. Our Nursery is located in the Family Center Building across the alley off “B” Street in the first room on the left.
Young Children in Worship
Parents should feel free to keep their young children with them in worship, as we believe that children learn how to worship by being in worship. Partway through the service, children will be invited to the front of the Sanctuary to gather for a Children’s Moment. If your child is uncertain about coming forward alone, parents are invited, and encouraged, to come also.
Classes for all ages meet at 10:00 a.m.
Words of Peace
Often referred to as ‘The Passing of the Peace’ and occurs early in the service. The Pastor says, ‘The peace of Christ be with you’ and the congregation responds, ‘And also with you.’ Everyone spends a moment greeting those around them. In giving signs of peace to each other we demonstrate our desire to abide in the Peace of God and an openness to God’s grace.
First Presbyterian celebrates Communion on special days of the year. With the elements of bread and juice the promises of God are enacted and made visible. All who are baptized and are being nurtured in the Christian faith, regardless of denominational affiliation, are invited to come to the Lord’s Table.
We look forward to the opportunity to meet you, so please introduce yourself and mention that you are a newcomer. The Pastor is often at one of the exit doors of the Sanctuary after the service and welcomes the chance to greet you.
